STX Profile lax stick?

I’m just starting lacrosse this season. I’ve never played before and I just bought a STX Profile attack stick last night. I have a 7 day return policy on it so I need to know if this a good stick for a beginner or not. If not, I can always return it and get a better one so suggestions would also be nice. Thanks.

Well, considering that you’re a beginner, you probably don’t have any real preferences yet except that you want it good for a beginner. So the fact that the head is pretty light and it’s really pinched (sort of an experienced player thing, but you might have a preference) may or may not have any effect on you. If it does, I hope that helps. Also, the head is mad accurate, which is good for attack or feeder. But, it has some features that more of an intermediary to experienced player would like. So if you wouldn’t mind spending more money later on when you become more advanced, I would definitely return the profile and get one of the following:
1) Proton Power (not sure who it’s by…)
2) Answer (by brine)
3) Clutch

I don’t really know a lot about these sticks because I’m a more advanced player, but I do know that new players should have a head with a wider throat because it makes it easier to catch. When you get more advanced, the base of the head will be narrow which improved that aim, but it makes catching easier. Also, because you’re attack, you should get a lighter head/shaft because they make it easier to move around and they add speed to your shot. And the softer the mesh is, the easier it is to catch the ball. Finally, lower side rails allow for a deeper pocket, and the deeper the pocket the harder it is to get checked.
